SUMMARY:Algebra 2 Preview
DESCRIPTION:**Review the Fundamental Skills Necessary to Succeed in Algebra 2!!** \nChariot Learning’s Algebra 2 Preview is grounded in the fact that a student’s success in an Algebra 2 course requires a fundamental understanding of the basics of algebra that are typically taught in an Algebra 1 course. Algebra 2 takes these fundamentals into the real world by providing word problems related to real life situations. Algebra 2 also introduces more advanced algebra techniques that build on the basics taught in Algebra 1. Finally\, many students take an Algebra 2/Trig hybrid course which sacrifices valuable concept and problem review for an overview of important trigonometry concepts. \nFacing the need to cram so much material into their Algebra 2/Trig courses\, math teachers have limited in-class or after-school resources available to help struggling students. Students must therefore hit the ground running right away or risk falling behind quickly. This is compounded by the fact that most high schools interrupt the seemingly logical Algebra 1/Algebra 2 sequence with a year of geometry. Simply put\, many students tend to forget nearly every concept that they learned in Algebra 1 in a normal year. The gap in sustained direct math instruction when schools closed on account of COVID-19 makes a seamless transition to Algebra 2 this fall exponentially more difficult. \nChariot Learning’s online Algebra 2 Preview has been created to minimize the impact of this loss of conceptual knowledge. By focusing on improving students’ conceptual understanding of key algebra fundamentals\, this course is able to establish a strong foundation for Algebra 2 success in just 15 hours.\n \nInstructional sessions run Mondays\, Wednesdays\, and Fridays from 10:00-11:40am: \nJuly 20\, 22\, 24\, 27\, 29\, 31\nAugust 3\, 5\, 7 \nWe are offering a special rate of only $400 for this class\, which includes curriculum. Seats are limited\, and advance registration is required. Register through our Student Information Form and specify the Algebra 2 Preview Class. We will reply to registrants by email with the invitation to this Zoom class.\n \nABOUT YOUR TEACHER: After 20 years as one of New Jersey’s most successful and popular tutors and a 33-year career as an executive with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey\, Jim has relocated to Rochester. New Jersey’s loss is Rochester’s gain as we can take advantage of the experience he has gained from preparing thousands of students for the SAT\, ACT\, GRE and GMAT. A graduate of Columbia University\, Jim has spent decades helping students unlock their potential and enthusiastically showing them that studying for the Big Test doesn’t have to be a chore. \n
